The Red Elephant social media platform is structured to be a more private environment for sharing information, news, and general discussion similar to the large scale services. It's run by patriots, for patriots, on privately managed, dedicated servers that are not dependent on any specific hosting provider. It's the same core software that the popular Gab platform runs.
Users have complete control of what content they choose to see, who to follow, who follows you, and multiple levels of visibility for things you post depending on your preferences for each. New user registrations are approved by system administrators prior to becoming active, and at present, are by invite or referral only. All SADOL / "Golf Enthusiast" group members are encouraged to register. Accounts can be anonymous, but do require a functional email address to be associated. We will cross-check new member email addresses with those we have on the current group list.
Alternatively, put your name / contact information in the "why do you want to join" question response, which is only seen by administrators at signup time. That'll help us get you verified and activated quickly.
Signal is a free, privacy-focused messaging and voice talk app you can use on Apple and Android smartphones and via desktop. All you need is a phone number to join. You can text or make voice or video calls with friends, either one-on-one or in groups, and use emoji reactions or stickers just like in other apps. But there’s one big difference: Signal is actually really private. Communications on Signal are end-to-end encrypted, which means only the people in messages can see the content of those messages — not even the company itself. Even sticker packs get their own special encryption.
ProtonMail is incorporated in Switzerland and all our servers are located in Switzerland. This means all user data is protected by strict Swiss privacy laws. We use end-to-end encryption and zero access encryption to secure emails. This means even we cannot decrypt and read your emails. As a result, your encrypted emails cannot be shared with third parties. No personal information is required to create your secure email account. By default, we do not keep any IP logs which can be linked to your anonymous email account. Your privacy comes first.
